Stopping by Homesteads For Hope

I drove up to the farm store at Homesteads For Hope and parked my car by the front door. The Open flag was swaying in the wind.

They had a new set up in the entrance room and it looked as though they had more gifts for sale than last year.

There were two people working and one of them I remember from last season. After looking around at their products, I stepped into the cafe and ordered a breakfast sandwich. The two workers worked together to make my sausage, egg, and cheddar on an English muffin.

I looked out the window at the house in the back that is being built. I could see new siding and new windows. I’m pretty sure it’s an addition to a really old house. There also seems to be a new shed or warehouse that was back there.

In the café next to the main room there is a counter with four chairs. I ate my breakfast sandwich at this counter, and it was very good. Before I left, I grabbed a small bottle of apple juice from the cooler and then paid for my meal. The breakfast sandwich was $5.00 and the apple juice was $1.00. While I considered to buy a decorated tin can to put pens in on my desk in my office, I left without buying anything from the store.
