I’m the writer for the Spencerport Blog, but I also write for the Canal Side Paper and so it’s fitting that I have news about the Spencerport Depot and Canal Museum and Canal Days.
The museum is looking for volunteers for its 2023 season that starts in May and ends in October. Each shift last two hours. Last year, volunteers committed a total of four hundred hours and greeted over one thousand three hundred visitors. If you’re interested, you can contact director@spencerportmuseum.org.
Spencerport Canal Days is on July 29th and 30th this year and the Canaligator Race is back!
Also, Spencerport resident Jay Diedreck is having a fundraiser to benefit Canal Days. He is an author that is selling four of his books and all the money from the sale of these books will go toward Canal Days. These uplifting novels that take place off the coast of Maine are for sale at the Unique Shop in Spencerport. This fundraiser will go on until the end of June.
