Bob’s Pool and Garden sold Christmas trees this holiday season, but this is the last year it is going to be doing this at the location on Union Street. They moved their stand in front of the new building at the corner of Gillette Rd. and Route 31. They’re closed for the winter, but plan on opening up at this new location in the Spring. Bob’s Pool and Garden has been in business for thirty-three years. In the summer time, they’re known for selling flowers.
Up the street from Bob’s Pool and Garden, there’s a new store opening up soon next to Pontillo’s Pizzeria called Retro-Traders. It’s a store that sells used goods, but it’s not a thrift store like the Estate Marketplace and it’s not a discount store like Xtreme Discount Goods. It’s been described as being like an Ebay, but it’s a store that you can go into where you can buy, sell, and trade used goods. Like the sign says above the door to this store, you can buy, sell, or trade video games, electronics, tools, jewelry, and much more.
In the southeast of Ogden, a shipping building for Amazon is being constructed. The outer walls and top of the building have been built, but the inside needs to be completed. Acquest Development is putting up the building and they have a lot of experience with large projects. Their main office is in Williamsville, New York.
More construction is going to be taking place across the street from Barefoot Landing. They are planning on building eighty-four townhouses which will provide a wall of housing on the east side of N. Union Street along the corridor leading to the village. Besides this new development, not much was done in December to build the three-story building next to Grandpa Sam’s, but this project will be a big addition to the village when it is completed. With this and the townhouses and the Amazon building, a lot of construction will be going on in Spencerport.
